List build - where are we going in the next 10,000 posts?

No way. You need 3-4 ruckman and quality across the list, which we now just building. To get rid of Bryan would be a backwards step.

A question for 2 years time. Bryan will sign for 2 more, takes him to FA. We don’t know how he and Draps come back next year, one may rehab better than the other. We need them both on the list next year.

In 2 years if Draper is clear no1 and Vigo is ready to be no2 then you look at off loading a Bryan for a good pick or a player you need in another position.

I think Bryan will drive if he stays or goes, and I don’t think we’d get a top pick for him. How much did Witts cost Gold Coast?

The question would be: when are we challenging, and when would Visenti be ready as back-up? I suspect EFC would say “now” and “not for a few years” to those questions. In which case Draper and Bryan makes far more sense.

No.
Too early.

Agree with these thoughts, however I also believe our current 1 ruck strategy works better. Much better team balance and forward line structure with 2MP taking the resting ruck duties

“ Essendon Bombers list strategy to focus on youth, talent and culture, CEO Craig Vozzo says”. Note that it doesn’t say the draft is a focus. Quelle surprise.

The same strategy that has applied in 2017-2019 and beyond.

Also note they’re targeting “everything” and search for “higher end talent”. That sounds like a focus on upside in the draft and best available.

If we can get a ready made young elite talent that fits our list profile via trade why not go for them

I’m invested in Harley Reid and Butters.

Its clear we are after Elite talent!

If the draft doesn’t look very strong then go after elite talent at other clubs.

We are not keen on more B graders, however way we can get A grader(s) we will explore.

Very clear

Just remember, Stringer and Shiel were A graders, and maybe Saad was considered to have that potential. Smith not sure, but was very cheap.

Other clubs aren’t interested in elite talent, so we should find a couple of gun players easily.

No mention of rebuild. No mention of draft.

Remember in 2017 we were told that they were focusing on youth so weren’t interested in Rockliff et al? But that didn’t mean draft, we traded in “younger” players such as SSS. This reads almost the same to me.

The 28 years age restriction nicely means RFA players will be eligible under the plan (mostly 26 or 27).

I feel like they’re positioning to top up.

McGrath and Perkins need to bring the headband back.

Targeting players like Reid and Butters isnt topping up

We’re guaranteed 2 x late first/second rounders in Sweid and El_Achkar

so even if we trade in Reid/Wardlaw/Butters, Starcevich and Ugle-Hagan were still putting a foot in each camp.

Gerard last night said we are doing a “silent rebuild” makes sense.

Just because the club hasn’t publicly announced or used the world rebuild doesn’t mean they aren’t.

They won’t use the word rebuild because of the binary interpretation and wilful ignorance that word provokes amongst sections of the supporter base.

ie. Many still don’t feel we are properly ‘rebuilding’ right now because we are still playing Shiel ahead of Tsatas or Zach Johnson.

Not properly rebuilding our team is one of the youngest almost every week ffs We debuted over 5 players in 9 rounds two against Sydney and probaly another this week to replace Hayes

I can’t think of a thing more modern Essington.

We’re not doing a rebuild. We’re aiming for finals. The two are opposites.
