Because North are as big of a basket case as us on and off the field. I seriously would pay little to attention to what North do either way as it’s pretty clear they have botched their rebuild multiple times and made far too many mistakes at the draft.

Do you trust Essenton to do it better?
I don’t accept our incompetence but trust we’re trying to get better at drafting, development, etc
But north are a cautionary tale for clubs like us.

North aint done well considering the handouts they have been given.
Under Dodoro absolutely not but I’m hoping that Rosa and Co can change that.
I still think we are a basket case off the field so I’m not holding out too much hope. There was a point in time where Richmond said “Fark This” and dragged themselves out of the mire, when will our lightbulb moment arrive?

No club will ever get a draft haul like Richmond did. what they got was borderline when GC and GWS entered the comp in terms of draft picks.
We cant use Richmond as a example. Daniel Rioli fetched them 2 first rounders who on our list will get us that?

It’s about the repetition. Of course North are a cautionary tale.
Repeating it over and over and over for 12-18 months multiple times a day, in multiple threads at every single mention of rebuilding, doesn’t make it a stronger point.
It makes it a meme. And so it is.

So on one hand you’re saying……
“look how good our list is, with all the young talent we’ve brought it”
Then on the other hand you’re saying…….
“I don’t trust our recruitment to get a full rebuild right”.

Not different to fans wanting Brad sacked along with half the team
That North are 5 years ahead in their rebuild compared to Richmond and only just fell over the line
He got them 6 and 23 as the Suns needed a heap of later round points.
You can make all the excuses you want but the fact is Richmond were prepared to let players go to rest the needle on their rebuild. We would’ve thrown a stack of coin at him and a 6 year deal to try and make him stay.
Newsflash, If you want good picks you actually have to trade out something of value or find a sucker willing to overpay
