List build - where are we going in the next 70,000 posts? (Part 3)

He’ll only leave to have a shot at a premiership.

I think we need to spend that 3 million.

We just need some solid players. Don’t need to be AA’s, but we just need some decent, competitors to buff out this list. Bank on picking a couple of absolute gems in the draft and start surrounding the team with some really decent 25+ year olds.

We got to find someone with wheels like Callaghan or Pickett. Just watched the gws dees highlights.

That pace outta the guts. We haven’t got it yet on the list.

We had Shiel, but we broke him too.

3 mill will get us 3 B grade players. We are at the point right now that North were at that you need to offer huge dollars just to get average players.

we have Gresham, Kako, Unwin, Nguyen and HUSS on the list. The problem is the quality of the player.

Tell you what, I was impressed with Ginbey. Solid build, ferocious attack on the footy, plays shoulder to shoulder.

Wish we had a few blokes like him in our backline

Pretty easy when the guy’s at least 70% shoulders.

He’s probably in AA discussions.

Lot to like about a spine which has Ginbey, Reid and Waterman in it. 3 absolute bulls in each third of the ground.

Caddys team mates let him get bullied by Ginbey all game where was the help?

If i was playing i would have came from a long run and smashed Ginbey into next week

Can’t say I agree with much you post here Nino, but this one is bang on

Especially when you have someone the size of McKay down there. We are just soft.

Yeh, nah.

Really decent players aren’t taking this team anywhere special. That is not what we’ve been saving our pennys for.

Christmas List over the next 3 years;

  1. A genuine interceptor key back who is a competitor with good 1 v 1 skills. (E.g Sam Taylor)

  2. Creative small forward with electric pace and X factor. (E.g Kozzie Picket)

  3. A two way runner wingman, with great decision making and foot skills.

    (Massimo lol)

  4. A decent tap ruckman who can influence around the ground. (Grundy, Gawn)

  5. HB rebounded with pace (Ash).

  6. Outside midfielder with polish and pace (Josh Kelly)

Bullied? Our dreadful kicking helped the guy a few times. Caddy easily could have kicked 6. Missed easy shots and 2 blatantfree kicks were missed.

  • Easy snap where he butchered it and Cox kicked a goal.
  • 20m out slight angle missed it.
  • 25m on the boundary, easy snap with the wind. Didn’t make the distance.
  • Beat Ginbey lost his footing.
  • Two free kicks missed
  • Not to mention two Joe the goose he gave away to Edwards and ADW.

Delist - McMahon, Gresham, Guelfi, Gerryn, Unwin, Jones

Why would you delist Gerreyn? Voss situation all over again? He should have been developed as a forward and played there by now instead of Ben McKay.

Gresham, Guelfi, Setterfield, Jones, McMahon maybe.

I think the first need is already on the list. I have a lot of faith Hayes could be that player.

If we finish last we will take HVH so solves the ruck need as well

Saturday night convinced me even more that we are a long way off. Our list has too many players that are not physically big enough, or strong enough to compete. Reid, Cox, SEH, Redman, Gresham, Parish….. Spaghetti arms. One in team, okay, but we are way unbalanced.

Whose decision is it to bulk up? The players or the conditioning staff? Every week we are out-muscled. We can’t win the one-on-ones. Until we do, game plans are a distant universe. WCE are younger, yet stronger.
