So this whole AFL compensating teams who lose OoC (non FA) who are treated like FA anyway is going to result in more Compensation picks in 2027/28, further compromising it, isn’t it?

As long as they accept that we had him in our academy from his 15th year (4 year pre-draft) even though he was not eligible until next year

Where it sits with list spots

  • Assume we take 3 picks to the draft and the 2 academy kids
  • If we bring in another player like Steele - it means trade/pay out a contracted player
  • We could also trade a pick into the future or bundle picks and only use 4 in the draft.
  • Can’t see any of the uncontracted staying

I think you should remove the two NGA players. There is no guarantee we pick them up, and El Achkar might be Cat B even if we do. Or at least put them down in blue alongside Steele.

The list also excludes Merret as a possible out, like Gresham is.

The key takeaway is that at the moment we have 3 list spots open.

Yeah fair call, I did make it as part of the assumptions.
