Too much faith/hope is put into Eyre,Brand,McBribe imo
Have any of those 3 shown anything yet?

Whats the point in drafting an 18yo key forward and the riding them off after 12 months? The VFL had like 10 games this year and Eyre/Baldwin didnât play a game in 2020.
Jones didnât do anything in 2020 and then in 21 - Bang
A little patience
Eyres 18, Brands 19 and Mcbrides 20 and is just learning the game. They have shown exactly what I would expect them too and will improve from here.
I havenât written anyone off.
I just havenât been convinced.
Jones was a top 30 pick and has some talent tho
Eyre was pick 39âŚ
We canât exactly wait for them to come on we need a ready made key forward in the mean time
No we dont
Yeah we do
Peter Wright is still too inconsistent for my liking
It boggles my mind, anyone expecting anything out of Brand/Eyre/Baldwin in their first year arenât seeing the big picture.
Just to play devilâs advocate, we just did this with Gown
Heâs possibly the most consistent Key forward weâve had since Lloyd (Hooker might be just ahead).
Very very rarely do key forwards kick a consistent score anymore, their value is in what they do in general play and creating scoring opportunities.
Llyod was kicking bags of goals every week
Not saying Peter has to kick bags every week but he needs to chime in with at least 2-3 a week
Youâre expectations need adjusting, and the way you are measuring success should expand beyond goals scored
2.5 goals a game was Tom Hawkins average this year.
Compare him to other ruck forwards. His numbers stack up well.
I personally wouldnât call him consistent. He only kicked 3 goals in his first 7 games (he only had 3 scoring shots in his first 5 games of which only one goal was scored).
He was much better in the last 10 games, but still went the following in terms of goals:
2, 0, 2, 3, 0, 2, 7, 0, 4, 0
Thatâs still not scoring nearly every second game. Still a valuable Ruck/Forward
No he doesnât
might have to put some $$ on Baldwin for the coleman next year.
Then whatâs the point of playing him if we donât expect him to hit the score board regularly? canât just rely onto creating a contest
If we get king next year and he kicks 40 plus people will quickly want to get rid of Wright
No they wonât.
Wright is playing fwd/ruck. King would be main kpf, ie. what Hooker was doing for us
On output Wrights numbers for a fwd/ruck against others in same role are very good
Maybe try thinking before you post for once
How many players who split their time between forward and ruck have kicked 50 goals in a season? Has anyone done that in the last decade?
