List build - where are we? Where are we going next (Part 1)

Upgrade on Smack. As you said, he plays the role we require of him quite well, with small improvements still there if he works hard (which he seems to be doing).

I would rate Smacks 2019 close, perhaps better than Wrights 2021 personally. Smack was 2nd in the league for contested marks per game that year.

His 2018 season was also very good too

you don’t get frustrated when he drops marks he should take?

Or when we need a tall to stand up he goes missing and no where to be seen

There is harm in trading out picks for King. There’s opportunity cost. We miss out on drafting two first round picks.

So the two outcomes are something like:
In: King, pick 35ish, pick 50ish
Out: 2021 first, 2022 first, young tall x2.

Or

Draft: 2021 first, 2022 first
Develop: young talls

So to make the King trade worthwhile, king would have to be an incredible upgrade on our young talls. Like the difference between Mason Cox and Hawkins, even then I’d struggle to justify losing those picks.

Are you really sooking about a bloke we got by trading a fourth round pick and got that team to pay some of his salary?

Shiel is on big bucks and has played poorly for nearly 2 years now. Put heat on him, if you want to vent, not Wright

No It’s just that I want more from Peter

give it a rest Nino, he performed above expectations for this year.

Out of interest, if Wright played 22 games next year what would you expect his numbers to look like if he was to reach your expectations?

Coleman medal

2MP has improved pretty markedly over the past year considering GC reportedly didn’t do any contested marking coaching with him. We are focusing on developing that, so I expect he’ll improve further over the preseason.

A lot more than this year

I want him to be more physical and impose him self on the game more

If he kicked 66 goals while playing 25% ruck he should win the fkn Brownlow.

He was expected to be a 3rd/4th rounder pre draft. Richmond (I think) bid on him, and we had to match.

That wasn’t what I asked. How many goals and hitouts would you expect him to get?

If he did that Nino would still sook if he dropped a single mark and say he isn’t as good as he would like him to be.

I wouldn’t.

About 15-20 goals

Which year was it that he took that massive hanger against North they show all the time, and then immediately cut off because he turned around and booted it straight to a North Defender in 50m of space.

In your dreams.
In terms of seasons:
7 from 5 games
18 from 11
5 games with 1 goal or 0
6 games with 1 or 0
5 with 1 or 0
3 with 1, in our all conquering 2000 side

Jeez your grandkids are in for a treat when you start reminiscing about the past aren’t they?

Well he kicked 29 this year. So he’s better than what you expect!
