Lunchtime Catch Up Podcast- RoCo joins us after a win!

If he averages 22 pressure acts per game he would likely be in the top 10 forwards in the AFL for pressure acts.

Forwards pressure so far this year.

Yep, inferred pressure is also something alwyn davey jnr brings too. It can force opposition players to make mistakes which can be vital in turning the ball over to our advantage. We as fans need to look a whole lot more holistically at davey jnr rather than tackles, tackles inside 50 and goals. Considering that davey jnr is not a natural small forward, I thought he did reasonably well and would keep persisting with him in the team.

Yeah his disposal was a bit iffy, but I liked his repeat efforts at times last week in trying to pressure one man to the next in the oppositon d50.

Jeez you could probably give Daniel a miss for the next guest appearance. Never thought I’d say that I miss Grant!

Haha yep those shows with their Discord fans are pretty awkward and a bit cringe.

No offence to either of those guys but really, why would fans have any interest in what they have to say? It’s basically just talkback radio lol

Tough for Scott with no Grant though I guess.

Really enjoyed the podcast CJ.

What I like about the above 2 negative comments is that it indicates that yourself and Grant are being seen as more than just fans.

That’s fame right there.

Very strange posts above.

Great reactions pod, as usual.

Yeah, abit too much complaining about supporters and their opinions of players/coaches/list managers for my liking.

Here it is!!! Essendon is showing great signs of more consistent defensive pressure, inspired by the likes of Caldwell, Durham and Merrett trio in the midfield.

The podcasts are always entertaining, even after a loss. Good balance of the positive and the negative. Loving the variety of guests lately too. Keep up the good work boys. Thanks

Not my intention at all!

I really enjoy the pod, I’ll listen every week. To be honest I’d actually rather Grant do it himself if Grant isn’t available.

As always, appreciate the content.

Cheers for that

yep same with Jayden…only got 1 tackle in the VFL, but the inferred pressure from his chasing led to poor disposals by opposition under pressure.

I’m glad @CJohns brought up our start to the year last year. If you recall, we sat here and I argued that we hadn’t improved despite winning games. I feel different this year. Maybe it’s because of the nature of our past 2 wins, but I agree with you that these haven’t been super flashy wins, they have been more blue collar wins.

The biggest difference I have seen since the Port game is that we didn’t drop our bundle like we would have after a big loss, it was almost a more mature approach to the dogs game. The style we are playing also looks more finals footy like and with Ridley back in the side, we should only get stronger.

Don’t get me wrong, I am still very cautious about showing any optimism, but the signs are there.
