Most of the green new deal seems an incremental improvement on things we have in Australia. It’s a position paper, pushing the discourse to tackle the scale of the problems facing the USA. Reading through it, the individual items aren’t absurd. Maybe not workable without careful thought, maybe very difficult to pull off, but nothing really struck me as delusional.
There’s major economic, social and environmental problems that America needs to solve. Not saying this is perfect, but it’s an attempt at a scale that nobody else is trying. Until someone else publishes a better policy than this, they really shouldn’t throw stones.

Trump’s pick as a replacement for Nikki Haley in the role of UN ambassador, Heather Nauert, has withdrawn from consideration. Problems were cropping up in her background check relating to her use of a nanny who was in the country legally but did not have a work permit.
