March Day v Bears - round 9 2023

Many on here have said we were to be belted vs Dees, Pies, Cats and Port

That didn’t happen

We do have some more players out this week but will have a crack

Lions clearly got more quality running around and a very settled side

I wonder if BDB p.enis is going to shrivel up into his abdomen tonight.

It is quite nice though to go into a game expecting the very worst and being pleasantly surprised. Some of the best days at the footy.

Tonight though? :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

We are getting done by 100 points and that’s not even up for debate. Just accept it and embrace it.

No chance, nil, zero and nada, expect a wacking from one of the teams going to be playing late into september this year.

Yep. They won’t take their foot off the throat either.

Just want this game over and done with to be honest.

Hope we find a player in Baldwin to assist our defence in the next few weeks too.

You hope the effort is there. If it isn’t, with the personnel missing, it could get very ugly.

The only positive I can take from tonight is that it won’t feel as bad as when we lost by 1 point in the 1996 qualifying final.

No!

We will get suspended. And we need players for next week :joy:

I reckon we’ll go full attack mode for the first quarter then full defence the rest of the game. All 18 players in the back 50. Comfortable loss by 5 goals.

I would take a 5 goal loss

Legally of course i want commentators be like

“Gee the Bombers are being physcial forcing Brisbane into panic and turnovers”

Not sure you’re gettin’ it Brad…

What fills you with more dread?

A) Getting a colonoscopy
B) Having your wisdom teeth removed
C) Tonight’s game

When/if things go awry tonight, just take into consideration it’s likely going to be the second last game of the year where we are really going to be up against it from the start:

R9 - Brisbane (G) - Away
R10 - Richmond (MCG) - Home
R11 - West Coast (OS) - Away
R12 - North Melbourne (MS) - Home
R13 - Carlton (MCG) - Away
R15 - Fremantle (OS) - Away
R16 - Port Adelaide (MCG) - Home
R17 - Adelaide (MS) - Home
R18 - Geelong (GMHBA) - Away
R19 - Western Bulldogs (MS) - Home
R20 - Sydney (MS) - Home
R21 - West Coast (MS) - Home
R22 - North Melbourne (MS) - Away
R23 - GWS (GS) - Away
R24 - Collingwood (MCG) - Home

The only other game will be the Cats in R18. Are we going to win the rest? Of course not. But we will either be favourites, 50/50 or some genuine chance of causing an upset.

Are we seriously playing Geelong down there for the first time in 30 years? That feels like we’ve been relegated to 2nd division.
