Mason and Max - gridiron men

Yep, the irony is that Prokick is so successful that the punter market is actually getting quite deep and created more competition.

Currently ranked 55th in punting, which really surprised me. I didn’t think he was having that much of an off year. I mean 43.7 yards isn’t a bad average, but there’s some that are at almost 50.

No need for Baldwin then.

It would be fascinating to get his view of our development program compared to a US college football program. He’s obviously got a high opinion of his coaches.

What does he know about our development program?

I think it’s fair to say that the College program would be a fair bet better resources.

Imagine Dustin would have a reasonable idea.

He did actually train with the club prior to the 2018 draft (didn’t nominate after back stress fractures)

We should introduce punters in the AFL. They sit behind our defensive goal and come on only to kick 80m torps after a behind is scored by the oppo.

In theory it would make a difference if his team was losing 3rd downs on average around the 60 yard line while those with 50 yard averages had teams losing at 90+ yards. Is this taken into account at all?

I think you missed Fairybread’s point. (He trained with the club but that does not mean he got any useful development)

Exactly, so he’d know how bad it is

No, my point was I don’t think he would know much about EFC’s player development program as he hasn’t been invloved in it (JHA doesn’t count) and thus would not be able to compare.

If it is the JHA we are talking about then he wasn’t in any comaparable program whilst at College in the USA, so wouldn’t know about that.

I thought you were implying - as many of us have - that the club effectively has had no development program for young players, especially when he was trying out here.

Presumably nothing. I’m saying it might be worthwhile bringing him in to review it and compare how draftees are supported versus in the US.
