Match review thread vs SHITNEY Round 2 2024

Maybe it was just me, I thought he did some really good things. We just need to persist with him.

Who cares what he says, he is only a homophobic ■■■■.

I don’t mind what Papley said I think players should be able to speak what they are feeling at the time it’s refreshing instead of players towing the company line and cliches but in saying that I hope the players heard those comments and we smash him and the Swans when we play them next

Play it at the Sydney Showground and only allow Giants fans

Wrong the best Shitney side is the Orange one i.e. GWS, They are the ones on topof the ladder.

What happened to his career after the reveal of how much of a ■■■■■■■■ he is?

He can’t get a job with a proper football channel only low life channel 9

It’s pretty laughable that he is their chief football reporter. The pool of talent much be shallow

Funniest thing is that we play them in the second last round of the year, when finals will be well and truely off the table for us, and we’ll have a heap of players that are keen to head to Ibiza a week early.

Its about time our boys learned a bit about mongrel and didn’t just cop rubbish from other teams.

A bit of bad luck Wrighty, yes maybe you’ll get a few weeks and the AFL Police might view your action as a deliberate intention.

Personally, I do not believe it was your deliberate intention take someone out of the game like that.

That’s not how the football media works.

If you are One of Da BoizTM, it doesn’t matter what you do, you always land on your feet.

The same principle applies to AFL corporates, too.

Round 23, Marvel Staduim

Hope Papley shows up, I’m sure those in attendance can give little Tom some advice

We need to understandSwans game plan
Listen to Longmire post match R.E. workrate
Also I think they have a “reverse flood” -an attacking formation they use involving all players from half back moving forward. At times on Saturday they had 13+ players running forward of centre. Cant see it all on Tv. Club needs to analyse and even copy
They don’t use it always but 13+ running to goal is almost impossible to defend.
You can say one on one but you would need to cover every runner

Lloyd gave us a tick for the weekend. Said it’s good to see us standing for something - and that yes defensive transition is a weakness but he can actually see what we’re trying to achieve.

Media making a thing out of it but it does feel like most Essendon people are loving this approach.

2MP was playing the ball and was intent on going for the mark. He had no intention to hit Cunningham. He jumped because he was going for the ball - to mark it - and then saw Cunningham coming in for the mark AND INSTANTLY BRACED AS ANYONE WOULD. This should not be a reportable let alone suspendable offence. It was a football accident. There was no malice at all in what 2MP did. It was football. Sadly, rules have changed and will keep changing to protect players from head injuries. If heads are targeted or even if players are targeted and accidently injure heads then okey because there is the issue of care, but football incidents will happen when there is no targeting, no intent, and no malice. That’[s what happened with 2MP and should be found NOT GUILTY. However in the current climate I expect him to be suspended for 3-4 weeks. Shame on you AFL!

Try not too watch Swans games. Papley triggers me. It’s not good for my health.

Yeh coz King loves us. Even when he was talking us up and picking us for his top 8, last year. You could tell he was taking the ■■■■.

Essendon on the improve and response to Papley comments

“I don’t think there was a lot of premeditated stuff in what Essendon were doing there.

“If you want to carry yourself with a little bit of niggle, niggling your direct opponent and trying to make it more difficult to play the game and to have it on your terms.

“That’s a pretty good place to start because you want to disrupt the opposition as much as you want to.

“But I thought across the board, I was impressed by Essendon.

“I think they were beaten by a really good opponent and I think Sydney will show up a lot of teams.

“They were still able to score 100 points. Jake Stringer and Jade Gresham in that front half with Kyle Langford and their talls. Jye Menzie I don’t mind as a small player.

“I think Sam Durham, Ben Hobbs and Archie Perkins are three young players who are going to come through really well. Zach Merrett’s performance was next level, I think he’s just getting better and better.

“When an opponent like Tom Papley is going to question that they’ve got to do it for four quarters and yeah, they do, but they had some young boys that really stood up and it’s just good stuff both ways.

“The other thing is they’ve had some experienced players that I believe haven’t been physical enough or haven’t stood up in the big moments enough.

“I actually wasn’t disappointed with what I saw.”

It appears Buckley’s judgment has improved since the closing seconds of ANZAC Day 1995.
