Poor old Lav. Just gets out positioned consistently. Tries hard but we need a replacement who can defend well and has closing speed.

It’s pleasing we are in this position and that we overcame Footscray’s strong start in the 2nd qtr. But it’s never easy for us and we don’t control the game and play it on our terms for long periods. Skills and work rate and smarts need to improve a lot to make that happen

2nd half of 2nd quarter we were on top in the contest and playing good footy. If we sustain that we will win, but it was only 25% of the game so far.
Rest of the game we were getting flogged in contested ball and in transition and we were only in it because of the umps. Feels weird

A heartbreaker is better than last week.
Last week was heart smashed to smithereens.
Looked ominious when they kicked the first few in the second, but we worked very hard in that quarter, kudos to the boys. Duursma’s really been finding his feet the past few weeks, whilst Merett, Durham, Caldwell & Hobbs all working hard. McKay adds some composure down back too. I think whats stopped them from getting away as per usual is English has been nullified in the ruck, whilst Liberatore and Bont haven’t been in the game so far.
How badly do we need some quality, fast small forwards in this team?
