Even now, a friend of mine knows some recent Geelong recruiters, and he was utterly flabbergasted that we traded with Geelong to grab Caddy. He reckoned that Blind Freddy knew Geelong were going to take O’Sullivan rather than Caddy, and all we did is give away our second-rounder for nothing. Obviously, Geelong bluffed him that they would take Caddy even though their bigger need was for a KPD.
