Matt Rosa - the new list boss man

Theyre at Essendon. Of course they gonna be in the habit of losing.

Yes, you got me. That’s exactly what I want.

Poor Rosa you could just sense he had to toe the company line today. I think deep down if it was his choice he would’ve traded Zach.

Rightly so - Merrett was the contracted Captain of Essendon Football Club.
He wasn’t Kyle Reimers.

IF you want to build a premiership side, then we left a golden opportunity on the table…for what…swagger. Merrett needs to have a brownlow season to get a decent return.

I don’t know about swagger, but it will give clubs food for thought when they try to come after Roberts, Caddy, Kako, etc

We don’t want to be a feeder club to other teams.

I like the fact we asked for their first round picks for the next 3 years. Also a 2nd rounder. If we were to let Zac go we were going to bleed them dry for the next 3 years in the draft stakes. I like that strategy, and if they don’t accept then it’s bad luck for them.

Interestingly, Carlton did similar with Sydney and they paid up.

Well they did give 3 firsts and Hayward but they got 3 seconds back so not quite the same.

Yeah similar, not the same. Still the 3 firsts would be reminders.

I dunno, just trying to put a positive spin on it.

What happened the year after we refused to trade Daniher? We traded out a contracted player in Fantasia. Same thing happened with the giants and Hill, Hopper left while contracted the next year. There are reasons to not trade contracted players, but other clubs leaving you alone isn’t one.

Nino has the memory of a Gold fish.

I’m still filthy over that Adelaide match in round 2

That game was really concerning, got smashed all across the ground. In saying that Zac Reid looked exposed and the worst I’ve seen him and he started coming good after that, thinking Ridley wasn’t available. Excuses aside, we got beat up in the midfield, we continued to not bother defending the ground our ball movement was embarrassing. I would hope with some of the kids that got games, Johnson and Clarke, maybe that helps with the ball movement. This is all hope. We have some hard yards ahead as we don’t have the talent yet to take us forward.

It’s vital that we bolster the midfield with our 2 top picks.

I wouldn’t bother stander, this place has been taken over by the gloomers who spend more time attacking the club than actually being supporters.
They all tell us they are done with the club then spend every waking moment posting their spite filled hate on here instead of actually being done and going away.

I really feel for the guy as he has to say ■■■■ like this, but if he reallllyyy believes it, find the cannon asap. we have a new projectile to fire into orbit.

What did you want him to say that our list is crap and we don’t believe in the talent we have

Imagine telling the team they don’t believe in them

how do I put 2 likes on this? so true. they’ve collectively turned Blitz into a cesspit of hate, and I have to scroll thru 100s of mind-numbingly stupid posts to get to the odd pearl of reason or insider news.

Which is fine, as long as it’s an overall consensus decision of the actual football department based on whatever parameters they’ve set.

What is not fine is if Vozzo / Rosa / Scott and the player welfare section all think he should be traded out, on balance, and then the Board over rules that.

I do think , based on how it’s played out, that they’re all pretty much on the same page on this. That doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the right decision , of course.

Nor does it mean that even if it is, there isn’t a shitload that needs fixing at Essendon.
