Pretty sure he had something to do with List Management. I don’t think he was the LM but was overseeing that department or something.

Not sure he could be credited with putting together Melbournes list though.

“He was one of the key drivers of our AFLW program at its inception, oversaw our AFL list management strategy and has played a pivotal role managing the Casey Fields facility redevelopment.

“We wish Josh all the best in his new role and he will always be welcome back at the Club.”

After informing the Demons’ CEO of his intentions, both parties agreed that Mahoney would immediately step away from all elements of his role.

This means he will have no further involvement with the Club’s list management decisions and will not attend Wednesday night’s National AFL Draft. He has been released from his contract, to start with Essendon on Monday 14th December.

But there’s a bunch of random admin and employment law crap that needs to be handled properly.

Don’t overthink the details of that post. All I’m saying is Rosa is stepping into a space that’s got a legitimate learning curve. Dodoro showing the ropes of the nuts and bolts is going to help Rosa get into the strategic stuff faster. Salary cap, player contracts, salary cap forecasting, AFL admin requirements, sharing of contacts… it’s all simple stuff, but is easier to pick up from someone rather than work it out by yourself.

There’s very few times in the world where it’s better to start from scratch than getting a handover from your predecessor.

Details are essential.

1. If Dodoro is indeed tired or not enthusiastic, it wouldn’t be conducive to Rosa.

2. Georgia Harvey, recruiting and list administrator, is still at the club if I’m not mistaken - 6+ years plus RFK.

It won’t be a complete recruitment and compliance void if he picks up and leaves suddenly.
