I'm surprised there's so much rating of Pav versus Brown and Riewoldt as a pure forward. He spent his physical peak carrying the side playing in the guts. It's only recently as he's slowed down and his team developed a midfield that he's been a stay home forward.
I don't know who's a better player out of them but when Brown and Riewoldt's midfield's were getting smashed, Brown and Riewoldt did everything they could to reward and forward entries they did get. Pav went and became his side's best clearance midfielder. Bullshit AA selections aside he was a fair defender too and I used to enjoy watching him defend against Hird because it looked like he was drinking the education in as he did fair job competing.
Rating Pav's career as a forward against Jon Brown is like rating Hird's career as a CHF against Roughead
