Nah Coleman was more a winger who could push forward. Lockyer is very much a utility who could run some midfield, lock a guy down in defence, be your marking target and probably pinch hit in the ruck if we played Adelaide in a final
Don’t know if you agree with me on this or not, but I always take NTFL contested ball winning stats with a grain of salt as they are pretty relaxed on what’s a contested possession. Who do you prefer for our needs?
I really like the upside and scope of what Lockyer could be with this sort of pick, but Benny looks solid as well.
Why are we assuming it’s not Adam Tippa?
I’ve got a pretty good source telling me it’s not. Could be wrong though
With a rookie pick I’d like to take the player with the better upside which would be Lockyer but feel Jungfer brings better depth in an area of need.
Jungfer’s contested stats in the Nab League where absurd but that seems to be his only trick at the moment.
Yep. I think we go ok either way, I’d like to see the flyer taken on Lockyer, as I could see him play senior footy this season. Plus he could be anything, he’s seriously talented. He was a legit shot at the NBL 2 years ago.
The board has discretion.
Would Jungfer offer more than guys like Hibberd, Mutch, Clarke and to a lesser extent Snelling and Guelfi? Because chances are only one or two of these guys will be getting regular gametime anyway. Add to them Langford, Laverde, Begley as possible inside mids and I don’t think depth in that area is that big a deal - a genuinely elite bulldozer like Brad Crouch or Wines is a different story.
Lockyer’s upside in a position we aren’t to overstocked in would have me leaning in his direction. I can’t see either of them playing much, if any AFL, and it seems like Nigel would benefit more from being exposed to an AFL environment which will go a long way to unlocking his potential. He’ll also allow Laverde to play more midfield minutes in the VFL.
I fully expect that we give the slot to a skinny vanilla inside mid.
Sooo, … how 'bout that Members forum & AGM eh?
I actually just bought a shisha pipe. Members AGM at my house, if anyone questions me you can gtfo.
Why aren’t we looking for a small defender?
Removing McNeice may have actually improved our Small defender stocks
Technically, the board has indiscretion: “behaviour or speech that displays a lack of good judgment.”
/joke
I get the feeling we are doubling down on big ready made bodies. Cutler, Townsend, Hibberd. Now possibly Lockyer.
Plus what I can’t believe is I didn’t do a list this year, and pre draft I wanted Coleman and Lockyer… and now look.
We are in uncharted territory here
This topic has officially entered the Twilight Zone!!
Maybe it’s all a ruse Karma.
X sat down on Monday with his staff and goes: “Right, we we are going to give David Evans life membership, but I’m pretty sure it’s going to send Blitz off its trolley, any ideas how we damage control this”
Tanner chimes in.
Tanner: “well in my experience you need to circumvent unpopular news with immediately surprising popular news”
X: “good call Tantan, any ideas guys?”
Floor “reinvest in Esports?”
X: “no it needs to be something they wouldn’t expect and will keep them guessing”
Sheedy: “Well we could say we are looking at a kid from the NT for the last list spot?
So does anyone know why they decided to not live stream this thing this week as they have done the past few years?
Its all in the word service. Think about that for a moment.
Because it’s not explicitly mentioned in our vision statement to stream it.
Or because we’re mired in mediocrity or something.
