Hmm, I only know one baby and he would already barrack for Hawthorn…
Or next Dyson HeppellSimilar to what samwoods and GM said, you never know, today's Mosquito Fleet member might become tomorrow's High Mark member and player sponsor buying memberships for all HIS kids.

WHERE’S THE CARD
Got mine yesterday
I brainwash my nephews/nieces with the cheaper memberships. They LOVE the packs. We get 5 new supporters and counting, the money adds up and they are all wearing EFC gear to school and spreading the good word. Some of them might even go on to being passionate supporters like us and over a lifetime pour stupid ammounts of money into the club. By no means a waste of money or worthless to the club.
good work. And I think some people don't realise how important it is to keep reinforcing the Essendon message to kids. Some kids may be right into Essendon with no danger of ever changing, but others might not have such strong feelings, and can be in danger of straying to other teams just cos their mates support them.
At training a couple of weeks ago, some little kids were running around between the two ovals, when some of the players started moving from one oval to the other. One of the kids got close to the players and stopped suddenly. "Brent Stanton!!" he said, with awe in his voice.
Some players would have ignored this, and Stants did keep moving, but still took the time to look down at the kid and smile at him.
The expression on that kid's face was priceless. That one gesture meant the world to him. It's one of the main reasons I am rapt they've opened many of the training sessions up again, allowing the kids to have that close interaction with the players.

Or next Dyson Heppell
Or, next Grog squad member, think of the future people.
I liked my dads way of getting us to support Essendon when we were young.
He gave us two forms to read (or have it read to us)
1. Essendon membership form
2. Adoption form
I do sometimes miss my little brother John, but oh well.
That’s hardcore. My parents only threatened not to feed me!
We convert people up here, because a lot of them have grown up in NSW and dont have an AFL team. We watch the game each week together, and my sons mates come around and they get converted. We’ve also managed my to convert son’s partners son inlaw, his son, the younger step daughter and her boyfriend.
We usually come down for ANZAC day and my two sons stay at Crown and make a week of it. They usually manage to get a couple of mates to go with them; more conversions.
It’s a captive market place up here if you try hard.
Always buy a bomber jumper for any new baby, or dog.
Keep spreading the good word scorpio.
Not sure if it was real or a dream, but evidently the Bronze & Silver memberships are going to be sent out from next week.
I think if your kids think there is a remote possibility of supporting other sides then you've already made horrendous mistakes as far as I'm concerned.

I put it down to really poor parenting and that the parent themselves should hand themselves in to the Department of (whatever department looks after bad parent, child services????)
On a serious note, is #DONTHESASH offensive to the Irish? Can someone explain the history behind the Irish and "don the sash"?
this sounds like a religion, and vilification. you can't force something on someone if they don't want it... and don't brainwash kids. and kids have rights. and you shouldn't be teaching this in schools... oh.. sorry.

Theres an old war hymn that commemorates Britain taking over Ireland called the Sash, doesn't specifically say don the sash.

Ah, fair enough. Geez if they are offended by donthesash then I assume we have no irish supporters?
The Sash My Father Wore is a Northern Ireland song that celebrates war victories by the English invaders over the Irish in the 17th Century. The Loyal Ulstermen wear an Orange sash when they march in Catholic areas in Northern Ireland to intimidate and aggravate, and donning the sash, is viewed as a challenge to the Irish in General.
That said, Irish are not that thick to take offence at the Bombers slogan, though you have to wonder if the Bombers marketing group actually check these things out before they start a shitstorm, like they did with the last slogan.

Where or why did you hear this? It's not a thing is it? Like in the press, or social media?
Social media. Think some people ( I doubt people in Australia) said that the hashtag was offensive

If we were to wear a bowler hat, carry an umbrella and have some banging those f***ing drums, there'd be hell to pay. We'd want to move the red back a bit deeper too...very orange back when Orange were our sponsor.
