Honestly who knows, but I reckon it’s when we went from a football club to a big business but even then we stuffed it up
Given we don’t appoint coaches or CEO’s with any sort of process, would you expect people at any level of the club to be competent at what they do?
Wow so just received my 10 year membership pack. Yeh I know. Not all that long I know, I sadly had to drop my membership at some point. (Stop getting distracted David) So as a 10 year high mark member all I get is a pin? Where’s my damn scarf? Thought you still at least got a scarf every 5 years. Bring back the old membership packs. Massive price increase, I assume to scare off the allocated seat members to get everyone into bays, and no scarf. Sad times…
You get your $30 voucher, so visit the Bomber Shop at the Hangar and get a scarf.
And then you will probably buy a jumper and a jacket and spend another $300. Strategic marketing
They might be doing it to save the environment
That’s not a bad call. I’ve got 2 draws fulls of scarves and beanies/hats.
Maybe an opt in/out option would be good.
It’s to save on junk.
It’s ridiculous that you get a cap and scarf every year and barely use them before you get another one.
I have no problems with pins. I keep them and collect them. The ones I like most I put on my cap or scarf.
To make junk matters worse, I end up getting two lots of whatever they send with membership packs. One through my AFL membership and the other through my reserved seat membership.
I have no troubles allowing my cap and scarf get a bit ratty before considering buying a new one.
Most other clubs are still sorting out the best way to deal with it. Richmond did the wog uncle thing and just gave the members money / vouchers to spend on their own pack.
Maybe you need to access their facebook page
When we started to do what some posters here think is great: employ people who do not give a “fat rats” [sic] about the club.
Yep…I just got my 15 year PIN. 15 years of High Mark and all you get is a pin. I’m with the people on a the cap and the or skarfe…but mybe a polo or maybe a signed Cap. Its not alot to reward for a highly paid 15 years of disapointment.
Has there been any comms about the membership milestone pack changing from the scarf/cap etc to pin only? I can’t find any reference to either on the website.
Tuesday, December 3:
Open Training Session
The Bombers’ open training session will be held at Epsom Huntly Reserve from 10am – 12pm AEDT, which welcomes in community members and fans to watch the squad train one last time before the Christmas break kicks off.
After training, players will be available for a snap and sign session with fans.
Congrats on the 10 years.
Agree, the club should do more for their members. I was sick of getting scarfs year after year but I still think Essendon should provide something more than the $30 voucher.
Sounds like even the kids packs this year have been drawn back a bit (just a hat and draw string backpack).
It was originally a hat one year, and a scarf the next for all members.
When they dropped that, didn’t they move to a hat & scarf every milestone year?
Now it’s just a pin?
My Dad got a hat and scarf a few years ago for his 10th year, and I was looking forward to mine this year. I’m as disappointed as you are. And if you care about the Bombers sticker, it has a hole in the middle from the pin.
How did we receive our $30 voucher last year? I couldn’t find mine.
The voucher gets sent to your email address.
Sometime in the new year.
Or if you are slack and shop in person, you can get the cashier to search your name and apply the discount.
Yeh I was genuinely looking forward to updating my scarf. Was quietly hopeful it was some sort of membership milestone scarf. Ah well. They now disappoint on and off the field. Yay
I looked for mine in emails and couldn’t find it. Last year, they also sent an email to remind me when I hadn’t used it yet. They haven’t done that yet this year. I don’t know when it would be valid until.
It was valid until end of October.
