Memberships

Just renewed mine on the app and worked seamless. Thanks for the heads up. After 25 years of auto renewing first year I’ve held out for these types of promo deals.

Pretty ■■■■ that members who roll their memberships over every year get shafted when these come out.

They dragged me back in with the Valentine’s Day offer… 8 games for $115 is bloody good value.
I lapsed last year after 28 straight years of reserved seat membership.

I stopped auto renew because of these offers, happens every year.

But because you renewed on the app, they will auto renew the 8 game flexi at ~$230 come October/November.

It is… but meh.

Stop being sexist @theDJR

Cheers for that I’ll have to remember to opt out before then. After all these years feels ■■■■ to have to play the system but if they’re going to resort to gimmicks then…

Is the 8 game promo still available until midnight or did it finish at COB ?

Midnight.

How do you access this ? I only get full price

I’m curious to know how members of other clubs get treated. Is it only Essendon that takes its members so badly for granted?

I’m just going with the best (wo)men for the job.

Just a bay. And it was the first year last year so it was relatively easy to get a seat.

Promos are pretty common across all clubs so don’t think we’re special in that regard. I get that clubs are desperate to attract members but it’s a massive disincentive to auto renew.

Cancelled mine x 2 after 13 years, nearly got sucked back in re Valentines offer but held strong and glad i did. Yes good value but corny, tachy and club should of reached out months ago without all the smoochy crap and asked like an adult why i cancelled and what they could do.

I doubt that will ever happen in this day and age, as much as we like to think that we are part of a club that cares about us personally, I think it’s pretty obvious that we are just a numbers in a business.
I’m in the same position btw.

I got offered the Valentines deal. I live overseas and always did an overseas digital membership.

They really should group members/ex-members into attend/non-attend when sending out these emails and offers, cos if they wanted me to join up again they needed to offer something I can actually use.

The person I spoke to asked me for a reason why I was cancelling…they didn’t ask waht they could do different/better.

But that was possibly due to the reason I gave for canceling…20 years of continuous ineptitude.

60,559 have signed up to Essendon as a member for 2025 so far. Only 600 shy from this time last year

After the last 2 decades, a decrease again is to be expected. There will however likely be a latent supporter component watching/longing for green shoots, ready to commit if/when the tide finally turns.

On 23rd February 2024, Essendon were at 62,454 members.

Let’s see where it’s at by end of the week.

I reckon we’re tracking about -1,500 compared to last year.

Watch out is we won’t replicate the strong sales between March and May this year.
