Thanks YT, I appreciate the input, but noting HBF paid out within 5 days, without a quibble and threw in an extra 5k for the grandson when the house went u in smoke and flames, I'm happy enough to cop this one on the chin and learn my lessons. Just as an aside though, they are now using plastic pipes in the walls for water, and the detectors in the marketplace don't work on them, so can see this becoming a more common problem as time goes on. Anyone with a house less than say 5 years old, could be facing this exact same problem down the track, especially if they are thinking that there jazzy stud/electrical/water detector will give them the good oil.

Ahh, this concludes my first 12 months on blitz and I have to say 2013 has been a hell of a ride.
