I dont get the point. You are not happy with Caddy? The Caddy deal ws a great deal for the EFC
I just think they were always going to take O’Sullivan but conned us by getting a free draft choice from us. Had they wanted Caddy they would not have done the trade. Caddy has a lot of potential and X factor and has had to put up with the high expectations of him, some posters comparing him to LLoyd… He needs a big game on Anzac day. I am very happy with Caddy but think Cats did very well with their trade.
I would have preferred O"Sullivan at this stage.
Tall defender?
Yeah exactly what we need…

I would have preferred O"Sullivan at this stage.
I am unable to respond to that, well done, it is not often I am speechless.
If crossley is the best option then we take him but let’s not forget that a large reason why the dogs didn’t SSP him was because Bryan dominated him in the ruck in the praccy game
We need a ruckman with aggression. I hear Keogh has that.
I’d say rucks cop quite a share of arm / fist to the head so probably yes. But my broader point is that this kid is still suffering months later and potentially may never play again , so talk of trialing him as a ruck seems particularly presumptuous.
I don’t really see any other position for him, he’s too tall as a winger where these days ground ball rules. A versatile guy in the blicavs mould that can pinch hit in the ruck, i see that as his only option for a successful career. Despite being the skinniest guy around, his strength is better than it looks.
Crossley may have white line fever!
You must be right
We must be interested in someone else
We need to do what the Cats do and go through every player in all the other competitions with a fine tooth comb. Looking at the glass being half full, we have a unique opportunity to find 3 players who can play at the required level to add depth to our list. Get to work Matti!!
Pretty simple one to track Caddy v O’Sullivan/Mannagh, hopefully Caddy is the forward we need over the long term
That’s assuming Cats would have traded with another team, and that other team took Caddy. Or Cats would have taken Caddy over O’Sullivan.
Given Cats chose our deal over West Coasts offer of a future first, it suggests they preferred to take the pick to the draft. Whether they would have taken Caddy, who knows
Yep they clearly had a target in mind, presumably Mannagh, I’m fine with our deal and theres many ways it could have gone but will be one that is interrogated for years, hopefully we do well with Cads in the long term despite the short term challenges we are currently working through, KPFs take time
Crossley is only 25?
He looks about 43!
The alternative scenario to consider is whether we should have just waited and seen what happens above us.
If Cats take O’Sullivan, we get our man Caddy, and keep our second round pick. Which we may have actually used on Mannagh as we were linked to him
If Cats, or another club, take Caddy, we could have fielded offers for the O’Sullivan pick. Hawks, for example, offered Cats their future 1st for O’Sullivan.

And what do you suggest for our middle pick, an in betweener?
You’d have to go Neil for his height.
Although, maybe Jay for the post game interviews.
Ideally, we get contract clarity with Bryan/Draper by the MSD, so we know whether we need a stop-gap ruck versus something longer term.
If Bryan/Draper are sticking with us…we can take best available at our first MSD pick…then maybe Crossley later in the draft, with the understanding that he might only be with us for 6 months.
I think just grab Crossley as a Draper replacement - at the very least he has X-factor like Draper. Bryan likely to be gone at end of 2025
