Mid Season Draft 2025

Bryan leaving you reckon?

I’d be surprised as I heard he was quite happy here but idk

Yep, if Crossley works out then I’d be trading Bryan end of the year.

This kid is raw, watched him over the weekend.

He looked cooked by HT in pre season while trialling at the dogs

I’d say no.

And? He’s 23 so that draft profile is pretty old. What did you think of how he’s going now?

How did Vigo go against him? If it was pretty even then what’s the point really

Vigo beat him. AK Mun is too raw and not AFL fit

Mun rucked less (split with Miller) but beat him in every category listed here except HO and a tackle*

His name is literally “Cool Man” but pronounced in a strong African cool runnings accent.

Its whether you think he can get fit. It was always an issue in Majak Daws career.
He’s not helping us in AFL games this year though.

Why respond to fools?

If they were at the point where winning finals is a real possibility this year, I’d see why they’d consider drafting a ruck with their first pick. Given we’re a bottom 4-5 side in all likelihood, why waste a pick on propping up a crap year when we could be choosing a future 200 gamer instead?

To me it’s an easy choice. Best available at #1. Choose a ruck with second pick.

23 is still young. From what I saw, he’s solid at collecting the ball at ground level and has a reliable kick.

We bring him into the VFL program - Goldy can mentor him, then transition Vigo up to the seniors. It’s a win-win.

Were those HT stats or something?

Because the FT ones show a very different picture.
He’s athletic but looked like he ran out of steam after a quarter… don’t see any point when we have better, younger blokes on the list.

Didnt know i was ?

Oh idk I just saw it posted and assumed it was for the game, fair enough yeah Vigo’s cleaned him up a bit but not exactly the highest of oppo haha

Made of glass. No thank you

Doubt that Brad will be thinking along those lines, the way Brad loves Ruckman I wouldn’t be surprised if we have 8 rucks on the list by years end.

Brayden Crossley has been seen as the most talented ruck not on an AFL list for years. He’s continually in the conversation whenever we get to the mid season draft or when the SSP period comes around every year. There have been so many times when seemingly all he needed to do to get on an AFL list was front up having made some kind of effort to get himself into elite shape, but he hasn’t been able to do it. Others who are less talented have been given opportunities instead of him.

I will admit that I haven’t seen Crossley play this year so maybe the penny has finally dropped but it seems unlikely given the Dogs were assessing him for an SSP slot this year and said no.

If we are looking for a 6 month stop gap ruck then I’d rather we went for someone who works his backside off for the chance, who will train the house down while he’s here and help to set strong standards.
