Ingured
He has his job waiting for him back in Perth
I think Tom should give all he has to come back physically stronger. He is slightly built tall player.
Need to put some muscle mass on his arms and hips. Hope he will be able to do that off period managing celiac guts.
Massimo Raso - Richmond VFL ticks a few boxes from our recruiting heartland.
What about him?
Don’t mind Foley, Eckersley and Nyko from our own mob. It will be interesting to see who pops up over the first half of the season across the state leagues.
There is a mature agers thread over on the draft board on BF. Might be good to follow along to keep up with some of the names.
Finding another small forward is number one priority IMO.
I see that Tex and Jayden Davey played R1 for Port Melbourne, but didn’t get much ball or hit the scoreboard. Neither player played R2. Are they injured or dropped?
my preference would be a solid small defender, you used to be able to pluck these from the lower leagues - Hibberd/Baguley/Saad/Puopolo style
Maybe someone like Jaxon Artemis
SNAPSHOT: “A relentless rebound runner who can carve up the opposition with his foot skills and high metres gained.” – Denholm Melrose
A hard running defender and wingman who does not take a step backwards, Jaxon Artemis only knows one way. He became an expert at distributing from defensive 50 and beginning South Fremantle’s chains of attack. He was rewarded for his early season form with State Under 18 selection, before going to another level for Western Australia and claiming the state’s MVP title at the National Championships. Artemis attacked from the backline with flare and dash, collecting 39 disposals across his games against Vic Metro and Vic Country.
I guess it depends on the clubs view of El Achkar (he’s the small forward of the two?). If they have a high opinion of him for next year I’d be looking for a hard running quick halfback/wing.
A key forward would nice too
Even with Al Achkar a likely pickup, I still think we need a small forward.
I’m guessing Nyguen is a small defender option, and apparently Unwin played defence last week two. Clarke and Johnson are options to play on smalls to.
Not sure a decent key forward has ever been found in the mid-season draft, but obviously would be great to find one. Realistically it’s probably a case of taking best available in the mid-season draft due to the shallow talent pool available.
I think a key forward would be number 1 but agree that it’s doubtful in this draft.
Theres a few listed here by Shifter, that didn’t get picked up at the draft.
Gabriel Stumpf was the one who excited me with his lightening pace over 20m (quickest at combine).
I’ll join you on the Stumpf train.
Super duper athletic 196cm forward
He was talked up on Fox Footy just the other day.
I think he would go to Richmond before our selection.
A Massimo from Richmond VFL in the mid-season draft … is there a requirement that we later give him to Hawthorn for free?
Depends who we choose to blame Dodoro or Scott for the mishap.
most think more Scott than Dods, but a bit of both.
Look at the highlights of Henry Hustwaite (listed) for the hawks last week, hes miles better than anyone running about in our VFL side.
Other thing worth noting, didn’t the club recently appoint another recruiter to focus on ‘state leagues’?
Here’s a great opportunity to measure the ROI of this investment. A chance to see what additional resourcing can lead to (hopefully).
So does that mean we’ll effectively be advantaged by the fact we have played less games by the time the mid season draft order is decided?
Yeah that’s interesting
Go back in time and pick Massimo D’Ambrosio. Then keep him.
