Any Australian Blitzers living in Israel ** or currently visiting** would help our consular resources by registering with the Embassy in Tel Aviv, which is scrambling to identify Australians caught up in the Hamas atrocities and who are in need of consular assistance.
As ever, the poor Asians working in a country affected by conflict would account for the highest number of foreigners, easily identifiable and traced. This time itâs Thais and Filipinos.

Iâm staying out of the argument here on who are the bigger bunch of â â â â â in this conflict. Iâve been to Israel briefly and have my own experiences, which I will keep to myself at this point. However, I find this statement curious. I donât know where youâre from, Handy, or where you live, but if I - as a born and bred âAussieâ - was to move to, say, London, Iâm not going to consider myself an Englishman simply by virtue of the fact that I now live there. It takes a very long time to develop such a sense of identity, and to be accepted as such by others, if it ever happens at all. At a local level, Iâve been living living in QLD for 22 years, but having spent my first 33 years living in Melbourne, I would still consider myself Victorian (if the question was put to me). You donât just change your cultural identity at the drop of a hat!

Im third gen australian born, so ive lost any meaningful connection to my anthropological roots. And im more than cognisant on the negative effects of it without the need to have it as a lived experience.
If id instead been born overseas and chosen Australia as a destination? I certainly wouldnt criticise colonialism if I had CHOSEN it as a place to live.
Id probably be about making it a better place and trying to reconcile with anyone whose families bloodlines have suffered to allow this place to be pretty great today.

Last time I checked. It wasnât Palestine who invaded and took control of Gaza and the west bank. Yes Palestine have had â â â â leaders. I totally agree with what you say on that front. Easiest way to stop all this crap was to recognise a two state solution. Palestine was in relative peace until 1948. Jews , Christians and Muslims all living in relative peace.
Far right wing politics in Israel doesnât help either. Netanahyu now saying all Palestinians are animals doesnât help. Israel are creating a ghetto no power, water ,gas. You would think after WW2 Israel would be the last country to create ghettos and treat people as sub human.

Again you are ignoring the fact that Gaza has a border with Egypt who could easily supply Gaza with all the items you mentioned. There is a reason they choose not to, and why Jordan tried to massacre them during Black September, and the Gulf states chose to adopt the Abraham accords and why Saudis were in negotiations. Hamas are puppets of Iran and seek to destabilise the region to suit Irans geopolitical aspirations. There is a much bigger game at play here.
