Missing/crashed planes, and other aviation mis/adventures

I do agree but the others will make a huge amount of noise, and being who they are, the media will join in eagerly.

Darwin Aircraft Movements reports that the pilot has been picked up by CHOP 41 VH-RWY-A139 and airlifted to Royal Darwin Hospital landing at 1305. Pilot safe and well.

Horrific. Looks like a stall and just failed to recover in time.

On holidays so not fully in the loop but ASX advised that REX is again in a Trading halt this morning and I’ve heard Deloittes have been asked to help re-structure the business.
Unconfirmed rumours that they will enter VA in the coming days as it seems the Singapore well has ran dry. Would be totally self inflected if so and they absolutely deserve to go under for their foolishness

Great, there goes the competition for the Per-Mel route. Didn’t last long

Pure hubris by the clowns running the show. Everyone with any knowledge in the industry knew it would fail and it’s only thanks to the Singoporeans burning their cash that it’s taken so long

REX should have kept to their regional routes, the majors aren’t interested in those.

There was enormous pressure on Commonwealth public servants to use Rex for flights, a please explain if usage was low. Our Department got into trouble, as we used points from international travel for all domestic travel. We were pushed to get the Rex numbers up, at a cost to our travel budget.
IDK the value of Canberra flights to Rex compared to flights between regionals or the extent of Government paid travel.

They were told by anyone and everyone with half a brain in the industry to stick to turboprops on regional routes which they did very well. Pure stupidity leasing a handful of hand me down ex Virgin jets and running a couple of flights per day on trunk routes. No frequent flyer program until recently, no real international partners to funnel passengers and a pathetic lounge setup coupled with Qantas and Virgin warning them to stay away from the turf and that they would crush them if they cut into their turf. Qantas in a tit for tat started undercutting them on regional routes to the point Rex pulled out of some and then both Virgin and Qantas started capacity dumping on the jet routes. If only they had listened hey

Don’t know if it’s been mentioned on here previously but a week’s trip around the world in outer space has now entered 50 days plus for the astronauts due to the recovery rocketship experiencing problems. It’s a Boeing. They can’t win a trick.

And Rex has pulled sale of all seats on jets so looks like they are going to hand back the keys on them and they will be repossessed and/or scrapped.
Losing $140k a day requires some deep pockets

Still advertising. Might have misspelled ā€œairlineā€ (and even that may not result in a true statement).

You can’t buy any 737 seats on their website.

Zeroed out all 737’s with flight planning
