Missing/crashed planes, and other aviation mis/adventures

It’s biennial.
Obviously requires some serious work and dollars spent for just a few days every two years. Maybe it’s just not worth the cost?

I just struggle that 3hr traffic jams is considered the best outcome, even with cost constraints.

Most definitely not but I assume the government began counters have decided that is the best course of action. Is the PT free of charge for the event?

Never seen it like this. We are at 4 hours from when we hit traffic and not there yet.

They should sequester Paul litles ferries and put them to work

It’s sold out so people are being turned away at the gate, total cluster

Jesus Christ

It’s the same every time it’s on.
Just a few rules if you want to go.

  1. go early
  2. take PT
  3. expect to walk a fair distance
  4. expect it to take a while

Listening to the live ABC Melbourne radio broadcast earlier this morning, 50 minutes for road traffic travel times close to Avalon, 1 hour 30 minutes queuing time at the gate to be admitted.
That was well before admittance gates were closed.

I once flew a RAAF Caribou from Point Cook to Avalon for the airshow. Zero traffic problems, although kinda hard to organise.

Vale Jeff Watson ( mostly ABC) TV science and aviation journalist, who did so many aviation stories, including the RAAF and flights with Travolta.

Nice

And landed it directly into a parking space, and we’re able to back it out?

Ha! If only. They just did a standard landing and sent us on our way. That short take off trick was epic to watch though.

Is the wall of fire really necessary ?

Is any of it necessary?

Yes

Hell yes :+1:

South Koreans have been the star of the show IMO

What do the south Koreans have here?

As someone who didn’t have a spare 5 hours to sit in traffic, or a ticket, would be awesome for a blitz training report summary of the show.

The Black Eagles in their T50’s were absolutely awesome
