I think they’ll have a very tough job, with the game in LA. Also having Bogaerts in the side is a handicap for them. He is a double threat - errors in the field and a specialist at hitting into double plays. Dave Roberts even used this to their advantage the other day, intentionally walking Merrill to get Boggy at bat. He then obligingly hit to short stop, forcing the out at second (and would have been a double play if not for the fact that was the 3rd out).

Not looking good for the Padres. Let’s go Mets I guess.

“World” Series will be the battle of the wealthiest cities/franchises.

I have a bad feeling Cleveland will do us over

Mets Dodgers split the first two.

Slam from Vientos early put the Mets up 6-0 early.
Dodgers put the tying run on bottom 8, but no good.

It’s going to be Yankees v Dodgers. What a dream matchup for MLB. They’re gonna be laughing all the way to the bank.

Amazing that 1981 was the last time it happened. It seemed like there was a time where it happened 2 out of every 3 years.

I thought it happened somewhere around the turn of the millennium.

2000 was the first and only World series where it has happened

Yep, Derek Jeter was not very complimentary of the Mets facilities and organisation at the time.

Sorry, talking about Yankees-Dodgers, not Yankees-Mets.

Yankees-Mets was 2000, and it sucked, because the Mets knocked my Cardinals out.

What year was the infamous infield fly call. Hope that umpire has never ventured into the south since.

That was as bad as the KC-Cards call in '85 and Andres Galarraga’s stoen perfect game. Those two would have been overturned on DRS…the infield fly probably not.
