I was tempted to put that on my list but omitted to include it. It is absolutely fantastic however. Well worth the time investment.
I came out of the movie theatre and was deadset looking for skinnies on the roof.
War Horse had me bawling my eyes out ■■■■■■■ hell.
Oh and the main theme music from Schindler’s List is almost enough to set me off in tears.
Just so striking & beautiful.

A film that I forgot about and needs to be included in my ten is Jean-Pierre Melville’s Army of Shadows.
For those that interested in a French take on WW2 from arguably the top 5 directors of all time.

Casablanca and Gone with the Wind aren’t war films as such in my mind.
In case nobody has mentioned it/ All Quiet On The Western Front is an epic.
Stalag 17 / William Holden superb.
I completely forgot about that! Top top film
That was brutal! One gunner goes down, another takes his place. They had no chance, just so exposed
Those 2 guys that dropped in at the chopper when they knew there was a good chance they were never getting out was crazy brave
I’m going to nominate The Duellists with Keith Carradine and Harvey Keitel. Set during the Napoleonic Wars. Beautiful cinematography.
