Hodgey is not the only person who thinks that way. Many people I’ve spoken with also think the same thing. Hodgey is just saying what people are talking a out. And; you are correct, he will probably be fined again for having an opinion. Remember Hird’s remarks about a certain umpire and the outcome for voicing an opinion. I think its fair enough if the AFL media are encouraged and allowed to sh1tcan the players and the coaches, surely it ought to be vicky verka.
I think the money raised should go to various charities. The AFL have certainly NOT spent it on developing umpires or bettering their skills.
yeah got a couple. Felt light at the time but given Wingard played out the game unharmed it was probably fair enough under the guidelines of the system at the time. Plus the obligatory Luke Hodge “Good Bloke” discount.
they were right up until the last moment. there was basically nothing else he could’ve done except pull out of going for the ball which nobody would describe as a reasonable action.
CASEY Demons defender Dion Johnstone is set to miss Sunday’s VFL Grand Final against Box Hill at Etihad Stadium after he received a one-game ban for striking.
Johnstone, who is yet to make his AFL debut for the Demons, was charged with striking Essendon VFL player Nino Lazzaro in Saturday’s preliminary final between Casey and the Bombers.
The strike left Lazzaro bleeding from the mouth, with Johnstone swinging his right arm into the Essendon player in what appeared to be an attempt to dislodge the ball.
However, the contact was assessed as careless conduct with medium impact and high contact as Johnstone’s swinging arm struck Lazzaro in the face.
The incident was initially classified as a two-match base sanction, with an early guilty plea enabling the 20-year-old to accept a one-match suspension
ONE WEEK? ONE FREAKING WEEK?
And how was he attempting to dislodge the ball when lazarro had already disposed it?
