Didnât know this existed, but itâs video from 18 concerts spliced with audio from one (?) concert. If you can cope with the manic editing, itâs probably a snap shot of the band in their prime 1991(?)
Obviously being around for decades lends itself to having many members, but when youre Bad Religion, but youâre also made up of guys whoâve played in Black Flag, Red Kross, Circle Jerks, Minor Threat, theyâre some kind of punk supergroup.
I listened to all my BR records again recently. No Control was the winner for mine, just kicks all the way through. And I was surprised by how much I liked Stranger Than Fiction after not having played it for years.
Yep, itâs this one that I always come back to. But âhow could heâll be any worseâ is great too, almost sounds like an entirely different era/band.
Thereâs some later albums I wouldnât even know the names of or the tracks.
Itâs funny hearing some of these old punk bands play now though. Theyâre presumably much better musicians and using superior equipment. At the circle jerks and Pennywise show, they were just throwing in all sorts of â â â â that I donât think would have been possible decades ago.
I miss the â90s
It seems to be the time of year that Rockstars die.
A week after Terry Hall from the Specials dies, Vivienne Westwood dies.
I was thinking back to a Backpacking trip I did in my mid 20âs. I had arrived in London, and was at the pub talking to group of Scottish girls who were Studying fashion design at Uni. They were obsessed with Vivienne Westwood.
I was talking about Australian punk and how the UK punk fashion never really took off in Australia. And Australian punks just wear what ever, and there is not really certain âpunk lookâ.
These girls just couldnât understand that Punk could exist without the leather jackets, safety pins, and Mohawks.
I explained about The Saints who arrived in London in the late 70âs and refused to adhere to the UK punk fashion. They got smashed for it. But these girls couldnât comprehend how you could have Punk without fashion.

Best band getting around Melbourne atm
Just launched their latest EP
Currently touring Australia I believe. More garagey but very punk rock, albeit Japanese interpretation.
Nice, thanks for the heads up.
Havenât been to Thornbury theatre for a while, they books some eclectic stuff. Not usually punk. But folky stuff, wrestling and other unique artists Iâve never heard of.
The better option for small gigs is across the road at Shotkickers. Hated finding out after the fact that Guitar Wolf played there last month.
For those into 90âs/2000 punk. Some decent bands touring later this year. Lagwagon and unwritten law to name a couple.
Strung out in October at Croxton (I think)
And of course, Bodyjar at the Corner in September.
I found out too late that Lagwagon played a small club here in Osaka recently. That wouldâve been fun.
