Music You've Been Listening To

Excellent version of a classic early 80’s single (Comsat Angels’ Independence Day)…

Nicely done. Starts like a carbon copy but subtly moves away in parts as it goes on.

I always much preferred the Comsat Angels’ original 7” version than when they re-did it for a later LP. Here it is!:

Just listening to this…it’s such a brilliant album.

Yeah, the original version crapped all over the later version. I mean, the later version was sonically better, but it just lost some of the purity and urgency of the original.

A bit like the Hunnah’s Throw Your Arms Around Me which they re-did, what was it, twice? Three times maybe? It got better sounding, and certainly more arranged, but it lost a lot of its charm in the process…

Blond DJers will likely remember this song. This KEXP session just dropped a couple of weeks ago:

Don’t expect any love for this.
It’s a Tiktoky reworking of Denail is a River by someone or other.

I like this more betterer.

Literally for the past 5 or so years I thought this was a 70s 80s remastered song.
It is just the bus stop.

For a “trippy” day

Some Good Aussie rock

Is this DJ King or is it from a tv soundtrack or…did I shazaam it somewhere?

Because I don’t hear new music, so it has to have come from somewhere.
Regardless… I like this.
It’s not mind blowing, I just like it. And honestly I think just about anything new totally sucks, so…

Hmm…these two lines seem to be in conflict :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Nothing special… but it’s new.

And then, late on this one but this sweet in the headphones(verse to chorus) and great guitar at the end.

For fans of Fooies etc

Quite nice modern fuzzy alt. pop. Jeez, the lyrics are bleak…

New album from IQ

Really like this guy. I only smoke when I drink was very good and just dropped some more.

WTF is going on here, Chappell Roan - Pink Pony Club.
Originally released 2020. Then released again on the 2023 debut album. Hit the charts in 2024, finally peaking in the charts now in 2025. Radio sheeps can’t find another song in… 5 years? lol.

Got me thinking about Bruce and U2’s old album runs here when they broke.
And Down Under, of course.
I’m sure Tay-Tay has done similar (with albums), but I I don’t think downloads count because I’m old.

Isn’t there a weird Michael Jackson song that recharted in the UK on the back of Thriller?
Pretty sure I’ve never heard it, but magpie mind saw that shiny thing a while ago.

Is 1960s post-punk jazz even a conceivable thing? Cos this sure sounds like it.

Apparently in Season Two of Severence.
Haven’t got there yet.

Anyway…short, unassuming, awesome instrumentals.
