Lakers have the doors blown off them by Miami. 41 point blowout. Something seems off there, things could be getting toxic behind the scenes…
And pretty much rightly so.
This was pretty much likely to occur with our profile (poor perimeter D, poor transition D, inconsistent and poor 3 point shooting and pretty much no depth). Especially after the Denver loss where we just gave up in the third quarter.
It’s the same pattern as the playoffs last year, but we put up more of a fight then. The one ten days ago was just a give up and don’t show any resistance.
And that’s continued through to today. And in some ways worse, because the giving up is occurring much earlier in the games now.
There’s too much wrong with the team and we’re not trading out of this without giving up our only draft assets. Once we give those up, we can’t trade for another 2 years.
We got a championship out of the AD trade. Screwed things up after the championship and we’re paying for it now.
Take the hits and wait until we have our own picks in hand to take to the draft.
If there’s a decent trade available that didn’t include the draft picks for players that bridge the gap between now and our next first round pick (2026), then do it. However bad we are, next year’s pick ends up at Atlanta.

By the Lebron standards Kawhi and Lillard are both washed. But the haters desperately want Lebron to be washed, so that becomes the story.
It is quite a shame.
I’ll cry myself to sleep thinking of the 2020 championship along with the 10 others we’ve won in my lifetime.
I’m fine with Lebron being washed if that’s the way it’s measured.
I thought washed was a much later call, but it isn’t.
Funny.
I lived watching those greats in their later years and never felt the need to label them washed.
I just appreciated them even though they weren’t at their peak or far from their peak but still pretty farking good.
But that’s sports I guess…
It’s sports in 2024, when respect for your opponent isn’t really a thing, but belittling and denigrating is a way of life.

The tale of the first 2/3 of essendon’s 2024 season was

- win that one too
- media says same thing about next game
- team we just beat goes on a losing streak, winning against them no longer means anything -
- rinse, repeat
- arse fall out of season in July anyway.
