The biggest sacrifice he needs to make isn’t financial, it’s usage rate. Two of the most ball dominant, stat hungry players on the one roster. Both of them are putrid defensively. Luka has never been a good defender, LeBron hasn’t played defence since the 2016 Finals. There’s only one basketball to go around. I can’t wait to see the machinations and the behind the scenes goings on that led to this!

Sad to see Christie go and we gave up another draft pick.
Doncic is more of a ‘face of the NBA’ than AD and he fits the way the Lakers operated under Jerry Buss.

Lebron isn’t as ball dominant as previous years.
So he’ll defer to Luka.
It’ll be interesting to see what we do with Reaves now. I like him and how he’s developed. So now we probably fix our depth by trading him.

They should have gone to the market.
They would have gotten a far better trade offer from other teams.

So Mavs have AD, Lively and Gafford all wanting to be starting centre ?
AD has never wanted to play the 5. So he would be happy to share the floor with Lively/Gafford. I think Kyrie and AD is not a bad little guy/big guy pairing. As @Trotters sats, Mavs defence improves, AD is having an elite season on both ends of the floor. Kleber is a loss, a guy who can shoot 3s and help space the floor. He will be a good addition to the Lakers roster.
