Injuries have produced a wide open Eastern Conference, which will be an interesting watch.

Pretty lowkey FA pool but trades will start to heat up again this week. Been a crazy off season so far.
News today LeBron could return to Cavs or Heat would be awesome.
Oh and Malik Beasley going back to jail.
Does Nurkic to Utah mean Kessler to the Lakers ?
Incidentally, Mark William’s trade not yet officially gone through. Reckon the Suns are doing a very thorough medical after last seasons bizarre events ? Lol.
I doubt they’ll give up what Utah want for him. They value him highly.
I really want Ayton to go to the Lakers. That would be hilarious. Although, if Doncic unlocks him, I’ll spew.
LeBron to Suns for Beal please. We’ll even throw in Richards!!
If LeBron leaves, does that imply Bronny is tagging along?
I haven’t been able to find any new info regarding Giddey - assume he is staying at the Bulls?
I see the Nets didn’t make Dayron Sharpe a qualifying offer, I wonder if they’re targeting someone with all that cap space and if so, who.
I also wonder if Charlotte would make a play for Sharpe now that he’s free agent and our starting Centre is currently a draftee…
Weird choice by the Nets.
He’s now a free agent. And obviously will be linked to the Lakers.
Guys like him make me question my philosophy that if you evened out the socioeconomic state you would reduce crime.
Yeah he’s signing with the Bulls
This the game where the Cameroon player made a clutch play . . . For Australia?
If any team is serious about winning, you wouldn’t want this clownshow at your franchise. The best thing for the Lakers would be to trade him out. Get their franchise back, move on and build around Luka without having to worry about pacifying LeBron and having to have his kid wasting a roster spot in the process.
Don’t the Lakers have about 20 cents to spend on a center now LeBron has opted into his 700 million contract?
Nah. He’s on $52mil. If he opted out, he could have signed for a higher contract, but he had no leverage as the only team with salary cap space is Brooklyn. Next off season there are a lot of teams ready to spend money.
There’s also fark all free agents worth spending money this pre-season. It’s not like we get to spend Lebron’s $52mil on any free agent either. We’d have to stay under the cap so we’d be able to sign someone for around $25mil. Then go over the aprons by extending players contracts.
We’re under the 1st apron. We have the mid-level taxpayer exception which is about $8mil. With DFS opting out, we have the full mid-level non taxpayer exception which is about $15mil.
However, because we traded cash for second round picks, we’re handicapped at the 1st apron (which we were going to comply with anyway). So, I think if we do use the $15mil exception, we cannot sign DFS who is effectively a free agent now. Our best chance to get both is to re-sign DFS and use the $8mil exception.
The handicapped at the 1st apron rule screwed up Dallas last season. They got too close to the apron that once all their injuries occurred in late March, they were close to running out of players to sit on the bench and couldn’t sign anyone.
We do have expiring salaries (Rui, Gabe & Kleber) but iI doubt we move them until December / January / February. Teams won’t take those contracts unless we hand over draft picks (which we don’t want to do).
Hornets delay a decision on Okogie guarantee for two weeks. Clearly looking to see what can be done in FA before locking in various wages.
Reports that Sharpe will sign a two year deal at Brooklyn, so that’s one potential Centre off the table.
Rockets got a nice bench piece in DFS. Very solid team
Denver traded MPJ to Nets for Cam Johnson
Looks like Luke Kornet to the Spurs (4 years/$41M) and Al Horford likely to leave for Golden State. We signed some back-up big from Minnesota.
