i loved Neale too as did all bomber supporters at the time… he was going to be a great no doubt , and he did it with total humility .
His fight to comeback was inspirational as his latest battles have shown us, it is part of his DNA
A true AFL legend and a Bomber and Demon champ

This is literally true.

A minority of people with MND live this long after diagnosis. If only the person who had genetic tests that can identify them could get support to help them.

The strength that Neale and his family and huge team of supporters has shown over the last 13 years since diagnosis must have given so many hope where there seemed to be none. Well done all involved, and congratulations Neale. You truly are an amazing human being.

Absolutely wonderful. :clap::clap::clap:
I lost my closest friend to MND many years ago(2006). At the time I had no idea what it even was. It was a heartbreaking struggle watching her deteriorate and finally pass. Neale has done sooooo much for understanding, education, support and research- it is unbelievable.
Despite the fact that he will not be able to articulate his feelings through speech, he will understand and be both humble and thankful.
(And wonderful technology now will enable his thoughts to be heard by all).

So sorry for your loss @loyalandproud. As Neale says, it’s a beast.

Apart from neale’s reverence in the afl community, they really nailed the marketing of Fight MND/big freeze, you see beanies everywhere, and they’re quality

You are not wrong. About 6 months ago l was on a rare trip to the city. At Southern Cross l met a couple of tourists from Qld that asked me what all the blue beanies were about. I was happy to explain the background and they were astounded that a football player inspired a charity that had raised over $100 m. But what a player he was!
