The AFL today released the new NGA zones.
We have had territory taken away and given to north.
Geelong get a free hit and get Western Victoria.
Hawthorn all of Gippsland.
We get a sliver from Keilor to Woodend.

Wow. Kick in the guts
Geelong did really well out of the redistribution. I mean fair enough they are really struggling.
Collingwood definitely improved their position. Again struggling club so fair enough.
Richmond and Melbourne didn’t go so well.
Irrelevant club stays irrelevant.
I imagine they are looking at population, and the number of Newly arrived communities and First Nations people per zone.
So it probably works out to be ok.
The thing that will suit a team like Geelong, is that they’ll get access to excellent First Nations talent from Western Victoria.
They are not highlighting what Essendon is losing in the article. But I you look at the map, we are losing a fair bit of our zone.
Fark… the way AFL is being sneaky directing what media to highlight in their article.
Realistically what are our chances of getting any players from tiwi or West Arnhem land? They are just dead zones
Have a look at what has come from there in the past.
Maybe, just maybe we should focus a tad bit more energy on it
Yep, excellent opportunity for the club.
I agree, but howabout we fix the basketcase at Tulla first.
You can do both
investing in our NGA zones would help the basketcase at tulla
where does Justice live
Doesn’t apply until 2028 draft
The AFL may have just accidentally done us a service.
If we’re not pumping money in to Tiwi etc with moderate first dibs on the outcomes then we’re stupid and irresponsible.

NWA
There are two multicultural elements in the western districts. The Sudanese abattoir workers(e.g Lual) and Noonans move watching habits.
Geelong won’t get many nga’s out of that area.
North just being a burden on the rest of the competition yet again, move to Canberra ffs.
or fold.
