Sweid didn’t play in the middle for VIC Metro and so his lack of effectiveness there is understandable. I suspect he will be drafted in the 40+ stage of this years draft
Are you sure? I understood he spent considerable time there (midfield) in game 1.
Much better performances from Huss and Sweid in this second metro game
Huss had 9 score involvements so far and kicked 2.3
An Essendon player already.
I’m not seeing anything to excite me.
Sorry my expectations may be too high.
Liked Greeves (vic) Williams (WA) a bit to offer too
Only saw the last couple of quarters but I liked what our academy boys served up in that second half.
I would still be shocked if either are first round picks.
And I could see Huss being a second maybe late first and sweid falling a lot further
If sweid played from half forward those are very good numbers. I could seen him being a dev Smith type, polished but aggressive half forward
He was mostly on ball
I’m not sure this Vic Metro team is super impressive compared to the last couple of years.
Ideal scenario is both these players fall past our second round selections, they need to go out clubbing and get bretho stopped like Curnow.
Huss has hit a strong vein of form in recent weeks, and he showed again here how dangerous he can be. He got up the ground a little more than he has been this season and turned on the jets on a number of occasions to burn off defenders, helping to transition Metro quickly into an open forward line. He had a game high score involvements, kicking two goals of his own.
Sweid three goals in the first half for Metro
Sweid was excellent:
4 goals
17 disposals
4 tackles
5 clearances
Huss was clean and damaging but didn’t rack up the numbers like some others in the metro forward line:
3 goals
10 disposals
I’ll do Sweid’s game for sure, maybe Huss depending on time.
Was he playing more forward?
Yes and no. He was mostly midfield resting forward but metro had a lot of territorial dominance.
In a very even team performance for Metro Adam Sweid gets the nod for BOG in my eyes due to how clean, constructive and damaging his possessions were paired with his strong presence around stoppage. Given he was predominantly playing midfield, his four goals were a real highlight, testament to his work rate to push forward and his reading of the play.
Will watch the vids when I finish work but based on your comments both Sweid and El Achkar have decided they’re going to push up their draft value!!!
