Sweid was not dropped. Fremantle had no injuries so one or two had to go back to the Reserves.

I’m struggling to get my head around this concept

the reserves of the reserves.

Still dropped whichever way you look at it. They could have dropped any of the other 22 players but they chose to drop him

Cannons hosted a “trial” night for up to 200 local kids vying for an opportunity to try out for the U16 AND U18’s for 2027.

Have heard a few of our club tied were invited to the night, hope a number of underages can put there best foot forward for 2027

So he is considered around the 43rd player on the list.

Not a great spot to be in when there is another Draft around the corner.

he is technically a first round pick? so his contract would be for three years correct?

As I understand it, yes.

But, my comment was more about where is currently in the pecking order with a Draft to come.

Freo may be willing to consider a trade for the right price, question would be, what that is?

Kind of shows you have far down the pecking order he is though.

Is the 3 year contract for first rounders or top 20?

There were Blitzers saying it was because he was safe and they prioritised players for the WAFL they needed to make a decision about. I’ve no idea if that is accurate.

Its simple. WC and Fremantle can only have x number of AFL listed players in their WAFL team, so when Freo had no injuries then 1 to 3 players had to drop to the reserves.

I believe it was a joke around the whole “no injuries” thing.
Something quite foreign to Essendon.

Anyway, Sweid only played 2 reserves games and has played the last 6 at senior WAFL level.
They won’t be ditching him that quick.

Perhaps the less he is seen the better

NO JUSTICE.

Watching Daicos live last night, gee Bewick plays very similar. Needs to put on size obviously but the way he moves and weaves through traffic, and can deliver a ball from outside 50 with sublime skill is very similar. Daicos has great speed and has built his endurance which sets him apart but the similarities aren’t out of question
