Not sure about who gets dropped, but the Hams / Fantasia part of the equation is how I’d go this week. The unknowns imo are how Fletch and Chappy are viewed from a fitness perspective. I’d actually like to see Langford get another game.

This is what I think will happen too. We were too tall this week and did not have enough run and could not apply enough pressure on St Kilda when they were coming out of defence. If Fletch misses they will bring in Gwilt.

Hird said he wouldn’t play Ashby three games as sub in a row because he wanted him to play a full game. I would think the same will apply to Hams.

Standing by for the call up. Happy to sit in a pocket all night then occasionally run into the fray and snipe a couple, just say the word.
Need someone to replace Myers cos we get beat up around the ball. Think ashby should be in all the time cos he looks like he actually wants to be in a contest, same for Fantasia. Who gets dropped, can’t say really but there has been little change to the smalls in our side for a couple of years and someone isn’t playing their part so get rid of them and send a message.
One thing for sure is even if we beat Freo it won’t be the start of something big, we will come out the next week against someone we should beat and play like we did against the saints…all we have seen in the last five years are late season fade outs, last quarter fade outs and plenty of false dawns…this team needs a circuit breaker
Everyone looks underdone. Give 6-8 guys a weeks rest and come back firing against the tin rattlers. Last year we got done on a hot day and struggled for 2-3 weeks afterwards. With our lack of pre season we can’t afford to make the same mistake this year. Lets just accept a loss against Freo in Perth and build for the rest of the year.
If we look underdone, you need to play, not rest.

And I also think we should think about picking Shaun McKernan. I’m not all that keen on Gwilt on anyone they’ve got (Pav’s the only guy he’s anywhere near height wise, which would be a yeeeeck match-up for us)

they played pretty tall forward against the dees - pav, clarke and tabenar (Mayne too). if fletch is going to go (and very much sounds like he isn’t if you heard him post game) then we have to bring KPD cover for him. i’d seriously consider picking Mckernan and playing carilse back this week. i don’t like the idea of qwilt giving away 10 cm to tabenar. That said the extra bit of run he would provide might be useful.
that said we need some more run in the side for subi and our midfield looks terribly thin when you measure them up against freo at the moment.

Bags definitely starts back this week with Ballatyne and Walters to contend with so hopefully gleeson pushes up the field. demps’s disposal inside 50 was beyond shocking but he wasn’t on his own. zaha just doesn’t seem to be able to work into it at the moment and pig seems down on form too but i’m hesitant to drop any of those 3 coming into a game a mature freo line up. Maybe it is the week to be brave at match selection and make a statement. don’t think that is hirdy though.
