I find they aren’t really all that compelling anymore, in any sport. Feels like a bit of an anachronism these days.

These all-star games died with the advent of wall-to-wall coverage of sports. Previously you would only snippets of these players on TV, so, there was always the mystery factor of bringing the stars together.

Cut day today. 53 man rosters finalised. A few minor trades happening as well. Josh Jacobs has been charged and is probably going to be suspended, so the Packers are going to have to make do with Marshawn Lynch and the just-acquired Kaleb Johnson.
Also Aaron Donald is coming out of retirement.

Kaleb Johnson is hardly going to shift the dial.
He wasn’t even good enough to get the 3rd stringer role at the Steelers.
