Not a great road trip. I know teams start to lift the foot a bit once playoffs are assured but you don’t want to lose momentum
Bah, the Preds were 2-0 up on the Blues, but the Blues got it back and won 3-2.
Meanwhile, The flames are playing a gem against the stars, lead shots on goal 31-16, had two goals disallowed, but are somehow down 3-1.
It’s probably the reason so many Presidents trophy winners bomb out in the first round of the playoffs.

Yep, it’s a long season so teams start to manage their players and it becomes a difficult balance between saving their legs or maintaining momentum. When you are so clear on top too it often seems like you are playing a heap of meaningless games in the last month and understandable that intensity drops off a bit and it’s not a switch you can just flick on
Speaking of momentum, the Blues came from 2-0 down in Nashville to beat the Preds 3-2. With Utah being pumped 8-0 it really does seem like a race in 3
At this stage, The Blues are going to get wildcard 2, and with the momentum they have (15-2-2 in their last 19), it’s gonna be a nightmare matchup for the Jets.
I do rate them but I suspect like most teams they will have a slump. It’s very taxing to go on a run like they have but I’d love to see them in a matchup with the Jets
