I thought that Shiel was getting a lot of votes for how I (and most of you) saw his year.

Umpires have no farking idea.

I wonder if the umpires actually know more than half a dozen players in each team.
This year more than others - all the votes go to certain midfield players, there were some players on close to 20 votes half way through the season, and that was enough to win the brownlow in years gone by.
