Dogs forward line worse than ours tonight. If they had just 1 competent forward they would be up by 4-5 goals. Port were battered in the first half and good sides will punish them

Port, West Coast, Brisbane - going to be tough to beat these guys if the season remains played over in QLD, SA and WA.
The advantage of living amongst family in a normal environment will grow as the season continues i reckon.

Agree. But I also agree the AFL should stop messing with the game.
I know thereās probably a more appropriate thread for it but I reckon weāve reached a point where we have to bring in a rule that mandates that 2 forwards must remain in your forward 50 and their corresponding 2 opponents (defenders) must also remain in their D50 with them as well.
You could probably only enforce it at every stoppage and hope that this is enough.
I donāt think we could or should ever have a hard netball-type zone where they canāt actually step over the 50m arc in general play which would be way too much.
That at least takes 4 players away from the press/congestion when the ball is hemmed in one third of the ground as so often happens. It also means there will be players leading up towards the ball carrier which the game is missing.
Iād try this first. If this has not enough of an impact Iād then keep this but also go down to 16 a side as well as the second layer.
