Non Essendon games in the 20 days of footy mega thread

It’s also interesting to note that the Dogs still don’t seem to have been able to fix their forwardline problems.

No they ain’t.
They won’t even get to a GF.
Dogs forward line worse than ours tonight. If they had just 1 competent forward they would be up by 4-5 goals. Port were battered in the first half and good sides will punish them

I hope Rutten is watching this game. He might learn something.

We’ll see.

Sides with half decent midfields that are prepared to run and spread will murder them.
The Saints and Lions exposed Ports soft underbelly and they will get carved up come finals

Dogs forward line not helped much by having a spud like Bruce as their main target.

Stop throwing the ball Footscray you fkn cheats

That’s all Libba does is throw it.

Is it just me or is this a really bad game of football?

Just create a macro to post that.

Port, West Coast, Brisbane - going to be tough to beat these guys if the season remains played over in QLD, SA and WA.

The advantage of living amongst family in a normal environment will grow as the season continues i reckon.

Most games are these days.

It’d be far simpler (and involve way less posts) these days to post when there’s actually a good game of football…

Agree. But I also agree the AFL should stop messing with the game.

I know there’s probably a more appropriate thread for it but I reckon we’ve reached a point where we have to bring in a rule that mandates that 2 forwards must remain in your forward 50 and their corresponding 2 opponents (defenders) must also remain in their D50 with them as well.

You could probably only enforce it at every stoppage and hope that this is enough.
I don’t think we could or should ever have a hard netball-type zone where they can’t actually step over the 50m arc in general play which would be way too much.

That at least takes 4 players away from the press/congestion when the ball is hemmed in one third of the ground as so often happens. It also means there will be players leading up towards the ball carrier which the game is missing.

I’d try this first. If this has not enough of an impact I’d then keep this but also go down to 16 a side as well as the second layer.

Tigers v Lions tonight, that should be an interesting one to watch. Not sure who I think will win, maybe Lions?

Hard one to tip, I don’t rate Brisbane highly and would think Richmond should win but this season is just bizarre

why is there a question mark there? We can’t answer who you think will win

Who do you rate highly Aceman, seeing as you don’t rate the top 2 teams on the ladder?
