Sign the boy up!
4 goals in half a practice match
= average 8 goals per game
= average 176 goals per season
= better than Peter Hudson!
OK, small sample size, but he can find the gap between the big sticks.

Would love to know if it’s the same WA talent scout that identified Martin.
If so, give the man a payrise.
IMPECCABLE math,
FLAWLESS logic.
Tommy tonk (another one) engine.
I remember when Blitz really didn’t want Martin to be the summer surprise… until he kicked a bunch of goals in a practice match. And even then some were resistant.
I agree. Reminds me of the Martin situation. Hopefully we are saying that 5 yrs from now.
Yeah they wanted a SANFL 2’s player (Fejo) cos of his skin colour and Essendon was a racist club for taking Martin over him according to some
Um, no.
There are 23 H&A games, so 184 goals. He kicks #200 in the Prelim.
Oh yes, I remember that time all too well.
Nick Martin? Boring name, never heard of him….
New guy fails the “two first names” test.
Do other clubs have an option to make him an offer or is there a rule that currently gives us priority ?

I was always % behind Martin.
Similar style but slightly taller Jaidyn Stephenson, could be the change up the forwardline needs
Let’s see how he goes against the Cats first before losing our minds.

I think the list was desperate for another quality small forward at the time so that’s why people were leaning towards Fejo more.
I was basing my opinion from training reports and I remember CJohns posting that Martin was a bit ho hum with no outstanding attributes, he just wasn’t seeing it with him and in fairness I don’t recall anyone that was, no one was jumping up and down about Nic Martin at the time…enter Adrian Dodoro .
I think he plays and moves the most like Horskin-Elliott
High leaping, lead up skinny flanker.
Might do nothing for 3 qtrs then kick 3 in 5 min.

Gia described him as a smart lead up forward. I thought Stephenson was a line breaking wing with a knock on his footy iq?
Haven’t watched much of him while he’s been at North was more thinking of his early days at Collingwood
It’s hard to judge someone kicking goals in a practice match.
Nick Martin did it, and it turns out the he was actually really good.
But big chungas also did it, and he didn’t really work out.
Sometimes you’ve just gotta take the risk to find out, I suppose.
I will say though, at 25, you’d think it’s only really worth getting him if they see a senior role for him right away.
I don’t think any of the train on guys would be senior locks given a full list to choose from. Edwards would seem to have the most upside, he did some seriously impressive things. His brain and body is fast enough for this level. He’s the same age as Jones and on yesterday’s performance he’s probably got a few more tricks. Hell, he produced more than caddy. If nothing else He’s good cover for Langford and Perkins and maybe he really surprises. Worth the punt I think.
