I like the idea of heading to Vegas, but there isn’t anybody there. The top tier is like Norf vs Gold Coast at Marvel.
Unlike when the NFL will come here and sell out, Australian sports in the US are viewed more like a novelty and in all likelihood the majority of the crowd is ex-pats or those who have flown over.
At some point you have to question if enough money is being made from this.
Storm going to be an interesting watch this season. They are the Geelong of the NRL. Too much top end talent to drop off. They will be around the mark and it sounds like Lomax deal should be done in coming days. I think they may end up stronger than last year. Papi hjas been a distraction and probably cost us the GF with his decision making and NAS has been a problem for a few years. I like us for the season
Pretty excited about a few players this year. Faa’logo at the back to light it up, still a bit small bit footwork and speed second to none. We’ve sort of missed that electric blistering speed since all of Pappy’s injuries. (the speed of Pappy from 2020-21 scores the GF winning try last year……….don’t go there man, too soon..)
Maybe Howarth gets moved over to the other side to fill in for Katoa? Such a powerful ball runner, breaks tackles and loves an off load. He could be a like for like replacement. With Lomax (potentially) coming down we have more flexibility in the backline, but Coates being out three months will hurt big time. Maybe Lomax starts on the wing with Warbrick on the other, Meaney and Leo/Seve at the centres, then when Coates comes back Lomax moves in.
I don’t know if Hetherington will be the new NAS and get suspended every third week or turn into and origin player but I’m excited that he is here. He is a deadset beast and Bellamy has a knack of getting big forwards to shut up and play their role. MacDonald should be taking the next step and Lisati is an excellent addition as well.
I reckon top four is still very much in play, but reckon it depends a lot on the new forwards gelling and if freaking Munster can be consistent. His last two GF’s have been so poor. Him and Hughes are still probably the best 6, 7 (get it kids?) in the game.
Very good, Manly in the early-mid 90’s were pretty solid team with him in it. Plus he seemed to elevate when he played Origin, something the NSW side are sorely missing the past few years.
Speaking of mergers or old clubs we have several staunch Bears fans/members in the family but they all stopped following when the Bears shut shop. None of them are keen on the whole Perth Bears gig and won’t follow them but we have the contract for their apparel and geez they are selling tons of the stuff. We have been sending 1000+ items of clothing per day.
