I moved to Sydney in ‘96 and The Bears were my local club, so I tried to like them.
I freaking loved their home ground. The team, not so much.
Balmain were just as close, so I could have gone with them (speaking of weird NRL club mergers).
Of course when Melbourne joined in ‘98, there was no choice.

NRL should just make him sit for (pick a number) 6 weeks or something. Have let this fester for far too long.

The Bears do have great colours. Our house is a 1 minute walk from their leagues club - I can see how they can afford to prop up a NRL in Perth. It just prints money.

I got super lucky picking Lane Cove to live in with zero information.
