Unless thereās a Pre-Noonan Blitzer who recall otherwise, Iād say Connor has already made 45 his own.
Fought off the indelible memories of Justin Stubbs (3 games) to make his own history.
Couldnāt find another player whoād appeared in 45 for us.
I donāt see any issues with him in 20 nor see why people get upset about the numbers anyway.
The higher the number the probably more likely they are to play senior footy first to be honest and heād be most likely of all the recruits (Shiel aside).
Rucks also play well into their 30ās and heās very athletic and still has speed. No reason really he couldnāt stay on 3-4yrs IMO
At that point weād have a 23-24yr old Draper coming into his prime as a ruck
Not to mention: Peter Daniel in 68; Ken Roberts in 70-71; Geoff Burdett in 76; Nick Walsh in 86; Craig OāBrien in 89; Damien Peverill in 01 and Stewart Crameri in 10-11. McKenna has appeared the most often though.
Nick Bowen on the Awfl website has stated that Vic Papp is the only player to play a senior game in number 46. Not surprisingly the Awfl website and the truth are not always compatible, Six other players have worn 46 including two current players - Mark Baguley and Orazio Fantasia.
