How is @westozziebomber holding up? Surely used to this routine by now?
Freo came with a heap of intensity and we struggle with it. We better find a way to deal with else Tigers are going to smash us.
Also think we lacked another runner in the back half. Shouldnât have played three talls and Dea.
14th place club from last year
4 players in their second game or under
16 weeks without freo kicking over 100 points
This is why i say having a kick it long and hope hooker can mark it is a stupid way to only have as your way of playing.
1 goal from both daniher and hooker and it was in the last 5 mins.
Beaten essentially by hard work, one player running off the back of the square, and a loose man in defence.
This is why you donât sign a coach after 1 rd, when the main issues are still yet to be fixed.
If Beachcomber doesnât win the hitout decisively, we pretty much have no hope of winning the clearance.
game plan the captain fantastic skippy came up with and got him a midfield promotionâŚ
Just wait - someone will come out and say that itâs all OK because âgastro went through the clubâ or âit was too hotâ or âit was a new groundâ or some other crap rationalization.
Nothing has changed in the last 15 years of mediocrity at EFC because mediocrity is always accepted. The latest example is Worsher getting a contract extension after one win.
Our defence us awful, and iâm not copping itâs because if the midfield rubbish. We have a terrible defence, itâs obvious. Brown is no where near AFL standard, dea is a depth player, hartley is no good, hurley has lost his toughness and gets beaten one on one way too often (and kicked poorly). Honestly freo are a bottom 6 team, this completely cancels out our performance last week
Nobody saw that coming
I think there are two key reasons for the loss:
-
We were completely outworked. At every contest we were outnumbered and freoâs players always had a couple of meters on their defenders while we had defenders right on our tails all night
-
Perhaps as a result of (1) they made very few errors and we made heaps.
Blaming it on match day coaching is a strange thing to do, though I would have chucked hooker in the back line at some stages to stem the flow
Blows my mind.
Parish wants the contest, goes in and gets it, yet labours on a HBF for half the game.
The mind boggles.
Donât know why Iâm raging, I was expecting something like this.
So were lots of us.
Itâs for that reason you donât extend the coaches contract. We are still too undisciplined a team.
Freo were able to bring the pressure and we couldnât withstand it.
You learn a bit about yourself in those situations
That light show is as pathetic as Brayshawâs incessant barracking from the commentary box.
Joe had a shocker. Heâll go away and think about that and come back better.
Brown had a shocker. But the match up was all wrong.
Heppell made some shocking mistakes at critical times
The umps gifted them a handful of goals.
And we lost by <3 goals.
Richmond coughed up some shocking losses early last year, but learned as the year continued. I really hope we learn.
My thoughts exactly. To let them score so heavily is a massive warning sign, the lack of focus on defensive play is worrying. Our midfield group needs a massive rocket up them
Was 2013 the last time we won in WA?
Daniher needs to be taken aside and have it pointed out to him that performing like a crippled circus clown is unacceptable.
Brown not up it AFL, and Stringer - looks light years of the pace.
Smith, McKenna Essendonâs best IMO.
Oh no, we suck again!
Canât wait for the CEO to apologize to the playing group for that performance.
But killer mike promised us freo were â â â â , and weâd run over them !!!
but yeah, those pesky people who could see it, yeah they are just gloomers. thereâs another word killer mike and his possie should learn, what the definition of being wrong is, cos they are getting pretty good at being that.
Swap Rangers with Bombers and we have a new travelling song.
Our key forwards were an absolute disgrace today - got beaten by no namers.
And we canât continue to play both Hepp and Goddard in the same team - people can disagree with me on this one.
