Why all the vitriol directed toward Fantasia?
Of the guys who left - all with very good reasons, too - he’s the one that seemed least acrimonious.
I feel for him. All that talent, matched by bravado in the early days, and he’s had to watch it slip more with each year.
It must be heartbreaking for these young athletes whose bodies won’t allow them to do the thing they’re best at.
The ‘what could have been’ mentality is something that most can identify with to some degree.
Hope he comes good and can recapture some of his best form, but it seems that ship has sailed.

Could have stayed at Essendon and I would have loved him, ala Winderlich. He chose to leave, had a parting shot at the club for not giving him to Port for a bag of chips. Now he’ll of played at three clubs, not racked up 100 games at any of them and will not be remembered fondly by majority of those club supporters. Unless he wins a premiership at Carlton that is.
I didnt really care either way. at the point that we had traded him, he hadnt played any good football for maybe 1-3 years. We even tried him at half back for a few games to try and recapture any sort of form. we should have traded him the year before When his value was higher and there were strong rumours of him leaving.

To be fair, if port were done with him and the crows have no interest, he hasn’t much choice to go to anywhere that will have him if he wants to continue his career.
That said, fark him and that rats nest sporn of a football club.

from vague memory some of it is
broke a contract (sure all sides do it now a days) after the higher paying portion of his tenure was done however.
wanted to “go home” but only to port cos they were finishing top of the ladder
question marks about his taking rehab seriously, granted a few fit that bill
was in the leadership group cos he was “liked” then wanted out
was a senior player who was looked after well which lead to the massive divide between the senior and entrenched boys club (despite his age) which helped harbour the toxic environment at the club.
and his “good reason” to leave was supposedly a mistreatment by the club of his medical treatment, to which his issues continued on at port.
so ■■■■ him. ironically like i say about most players, if he had of stayed at essendon, he’d prolly still be on the list and on decent coin, just out of delusion that he “could” recapture his 2017 form. and he’s only gone to carlton cos he got 2 years there (my god i thought our club was derelict in their duties) cos he’s only interested in prolonging the cheques coming in.

A fair question… of all of them I save whatever vitriol I can for Saad and Daniher.
That said though, it’s hard to blame anyone for wanting out of the shitshow that Essendon has been for the past 10 years.
